| Klipper on Ender 3 – random layer shifts |

Hi all,
I'm running Klipper on an Ender 3 with a Raspberry Pi. I'm getting random layer shifts on taller prints.
I've already checked belts, tightened screws, and calibrated e-steps. Running Orca Slicer.
Has anyone run into this before? Any tips would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance.

| Orca Slicer vs PrusaSlicer on Linux Mint – which do you prefer? |

I've been testing both Orca Slicer and PrusaSlicer on Linux Mint.
So far Orca feels faster and has better UI, but PrusaSlicer seems more stable with some of my older printers.
What slicer do most people here use on Linux? Any major pros/cons I should know about?
Would love to hear your experiences.

Here's my first decent print done entirely on Linux using Orca Slicer.
It's a simple but sturdy case for my Raspberry Pi 5. Printed in PLA, 0.2mm layer height, no supports needed.
What do you think? Any suggestions for improvements?

Hey everyone,
I finally made the jump from Windows to Linux Mint 22 a couple weeks ago. So far it's been smooth sailing — everything just works, and the performance on my older hardware is noticeably better.
What distro are you all running right now? Any tips for a new Linux user?
Looking forward to learning from you all!

About KernelClankers
KernelClankers is a community for Linux users and 3D printing enthusiasts who enjoy sharing knowledge, troubleshooting, and building things together.
We focus on: - Linux systems (especially Linux Mint, Ubuntu, Fedora, Arch, and others)
- 3D printing workflows that run well on Linux and Mac, including Orca Slicer, PrusaSlicer, Creality Slicer, and other slicers that play nicely with Linux/Mac.
If we occasionally have to use a Windows-only tool, we’ll make do — many of us run them via Crossover or similar compatibility layers.
Our goal is to create a friendly, technical, and respectful space where members can:- Ask questions without fear of judgment
- Share STL files, tips, and successful prints
- Collaborate on projects
- Learn from each other
Whether you’re a long-time Linux user or just getting started with 3D printing on Linux — you’re welcome here.
Let’s keep the clanking going!
